Count Down:
This training is for any personnel that is new to oil and natural gas production measurement and fiscal metering activities.
There are two critical parameters when dealing with the value of oil and gas: quality and quantity. The quantity and quality of oil and gas must be measured for operational and fiscal purposes. The conditions under which oil and gas measurement devices operate is usually unsteady because of the variation in fluid properties and flowing conditions. The instabilities and variations in the behaviour of oil and gas affect how flow measurement equipment performs in service. Critical to understanding oil and gas flow measurement is the fundamental principles upon which measurement devices operate. The physical properties of oil and gas are also critical to the performance of flow measurement and metering devices. To be able operate and maintain flow measurement equipment, the field personnel must understand the fundamentals of oil and gas measurement; and then build this understanding all the way to advance levels. This course covers oil and gas flow measurement basics and provides the foundation for understanding what constitutes best petroleum measurement practices. The training would reference both local and relevant international standards.
•Demonstrate an understanding of how fluid flow dynamics affect the performance of flow meter.
•Explain how fluid properties affect flow measurement and performance of flow meter.
•Be able to apply basic measurement concept and communicates technically.
•Explain the factors, the reasons for meter proving, and the information obtained during meter proving. Familiarise with technologies used for both crude oil and gas measurement.
•Be able to explain why measurement of oil and gas is not only about the flow meter alone but also the secondary measurement devices
